Studio Policies

Membership Tuition

All payments are processed on the first of every month by auto-draft from a debit/credit card. All lessons are private ($120 per month for weekly 30 minute sessions at our location, $240 per month for 60-minute lessons.) Tuition is never prorated for missed lessons or withdrawn lessons. Tuition does not include any retail teaching materials such as books or instruments. We do not accept cash or check for retail merchandise or monthly tuition.

Makeup Lessons

We will be more than happy to handle ALL schedule changes. It is important that you do not speak to the teachers regarding the schedule as they are focused on teaching lessons.

For any lessons missed by a teacher, Bell County Music Studio will attempt to provide a guest teacher. If a guest teacher is unavailable, a private makeup lesson with the teacher will be scheduled promptly. For any lesson missed by a student, if you need to cancel your lesson for any reason or if you are more than 10 minutes late and we haven’t heard from you, your teacher will take the time during your regularly scheduled lesson to make you a customized video lesson. We will be using a program called LessonMate. LessonMate is an online journal that allows your teacher to create lesson notes in the event you can’t attend your scheduled lesson. Through text, video, PDF’s, mp3’s and YouTube clips, LessonMate will help with consistent engagement and progress. The MOST IMPORTANT thing when learning a musical instrument is consistent weekly engagement. If a student has to miss a lesson, the teacher will post a detailed, personalized make-up lesson in their LessonMate account during their normally scheduled time. This will be done every time a student misses. This ensures students (and parents) remain engaged and informed, even when they miss. Again, the goal here is consistent understanding and weekly progress. You will receive an email with login information and an introductory video when your teacher posts your 1st LessonMate. You will also receive an email reminder with a link to your LessonMate account every time a new LessonMate has been created. We ask you, the student and/or parent, to be diligent about checking in to LessonMate. It just takes a minute and we feel confident that this ‘check in’ will really aid this awesome process that we all are engaged in-life long musicianship.

Cancelation Policy

To discontinue lessons and to discontinue charges to your account, you must notify the office by the 15th of the month. You will need to fill out and sign the withdrawal form by the 15th of the month (this is required to discontinue lessons and not be charged for the next month’s tuition.)

(You can get a withdrawal form from Bell County Music Studio). We do not prorate tuition for the last month’s lessons students will be responsible for their last month’s tuition whether or not they attend lessons. If they are unable to attend the lessons during their last month your teacher will take the time during your regularly scheduled lesson to give you a customized video lesson (LessonMate). Exceptions are not made to this policy.

Average of 4 Lessons Per Month

Monthly tuition is based on a 48-week year. We are closed four weeks out of the year for the holidays. In the long months, you will get five lessons, short months for example in November and December, you will get three lessons, and most months you will get four lessons. The tuition is the SAME each month; i.e. we don’t charge you more when you have five lessons, and we don’t charge you less when you have three lessons in a month. This makes everyone’s accounting easier.

Summer Vacation

Bell County Music Studio operates year-round and does not close for the summer. If you are taking a month off for vacation and want to resume the next month, your payment is still due on the first of the month to reserve your lesson space and teacher. See item # 2 for our missed lesson policy.
